Mama Wog and Papa Wog were surprised by some late night contractions on January 1, 2007, but the Wee Wog was tired of the cramped quarters and hosted his first rebellion. By 4:00 am, Mama Wog decided that a trip to the hospital was in order and despite considerable discomfort during the trip to the Krankenhaus and the following hour or two, all was good once the epideral kicked in. Mama Wog even had a chance to kick back and watch a movie while she continued to dilate. By about noon, she was officially 10 centimeters and the Wee Wog was on his way. It was absolutely amazing. At 5 lbs, 12 oz., the Wee Wog was on the small size, but given that he did arrive 4.5 weeks early, he was in the ballpark, so to speak. He measured 18.5 inches long and didn't make much noise out of the gate. His appendages were a bit ashen / purple, but he had great APGAR scores and within a few days full color had been restored and he was perfectly healthy.
